ROMPOX® - ECOFINE is a ready-to-use 1-component paving joint mortar that hardens on contact with air or oxygen. Thanks to its outstanding properties and strength, ROMPOX® - ECOFINE is suitable for almost every area of application around the house, but especially for driveways, ceramic tiles and use around pools. The paving joint mortar consists of 98% natural, recycled or renewable raw materials. The bio-based binder contains mainly natural oils such as rapeseed oil. ROMPOX® - ECOFINE has received several awards for this.

ROMEX® MADE IN GERMANY
Our production site in Meckenheim near Bonn is the center of our claim to high-quality and reliable products. With our own laboratory and a modern research and development department, we set standards in the industry. This is where trend-setting products such as ROMPOX® - ECOFINE are created, which meet the requirements of modern gardening and landscaping and at the same time protect the environment.
With the 1-component pavement jointing mortar, it is possible to "keep it alive" for a certain time after opening the container. To do this, fill clean water into the container until the grout is completely covered. Then close the container again. This will keep your paving grout for up to one month. Unfortunately, this is not possible with the 2-component products. Once mixed, they react completely within the processing times.
Yes, of course! In principle, all our 2-component epoxy and PU products can be used around swimming pools and pools. These include the pavement jointing mortars ROMPOX® - DRAIN and ROMPOX® - D1, as well as the grit binder ROMPOX® - 201 DEKO UV and ROMPOX® - 202 DEKO EP. These products are resistant to chlorine and salt water and can be used without any problems. However, they cannot be used underwater (e.g. in a pool, garden pond or stream).
In addition, our ROMPOX® - ECOFINE single-component pavement jointing mortar can be used around pools and swimming pools. Although it is a single component mortar, it is also resistant to chlorine and salt water, which has been tested and confirmed by an independent institute.
We advise against using other single component ready-mix mortars, such as ROMPOX® - EASY, as these can slowly dissolve over time. In addition, discolouration can occur.
We recommend using ROMPOX® - ECOFINE. Jointing with ECOFINE leaves no residue on the stone surface. The slabs must be bonded and laid in a water permeable way. Of course, our bedding products are suitable for the appropriate bedding.
Generally speaking, almost all other ROMEX® jointing mortars can be used, although a whitish/grey film may appear during weathering when using 2-component pavement jointing mortar on dark surfaces. Read more about this on the page resin film.
ROMPOX® ECOFINE is the best solution for the private sector on hot days. It guarantees relaxed summer construction sites. As a single-component joint mortar, ECOFINE has a completely different reaction mechanism and reacts much more slowly at high temperatures than a two-component joint mortar. Since material only needs to be removed in portions during processing, the bag remains workable for up to an hour without any problems. If processing unexpectedly takes longer, the bag contents can be poured into the bucket and filled up with water until all the mortar is covered with water. It is then possible to ‘preserve’ the mortar for a whole month.
