ISATEC® - FLEX is the first and only standard-compliant, viscoplastic 2-component special joint grout on the market. With optimum functional properties and a maximum elongation of 9.9 %, the material can be used as a joint seal for unbonded construction. The special joint grout follows the movements of the pavement that occur in unbound construction. The high flank adhesion virtually eliminates flank cracking. To secure traffic areas subject to particularly high loads and prevent displacement, the joint seal is installed in combination with ISATEC® - STOP displacement
protection. ISATEC® - FLEX is a special joint grout in accordance with the „ Fact sheet for concrete slab coverings 2021“, the SLG.

ROMEX® MADE IN GERMANY
Our production site in Meckenheim near Bonn is the center of our claim to high-quality and reliable products. With our own laboratory and a modern research and development department, we set standards in the industry. This is where trend-setting products such as ROMPOX® - ECOFINE are created, which meet the requirements of modern gardening and landscaping and at the same time protect the environment.
The answer to this question, according to Dipl.-Ing. Dietmar Ulonska (Managing Director of the SLG concrete association) in agreement with Prof. Dr.-Ing. Carsten Koch (head of the FGSV working committee 6.6 “Pavements and paving slabs”, among others), is no, it is not a mixed construction method.
The type of construction in which only the upper part of the otherwise unbound joint is filled with a synthetic resin-bonded or synthetic resin-modified joint filling cannot be considered a mixed construction method in accordance with ZTV-Wegebau.
In their opinion, this type of construction should rather be referred to as an unbound pavement or an unbound slab pavement - both conceptually and in terms of construction technology. The prerequisite for this is that the load transfer within the pavement is ensured by the unbound part of the joint.
ISATEC® - FLEX fulfills this requirement as a viscoplastic/permanently elastic joint closure for traffic-loaded surfaces and is the solution for the joint closure of the upper 2-4 cm of an unbound paving slab or in an unbound slab covering.
